How to Fix Epson Printer Offline Issue

Why is my Epson printer offline
A lack of proper communication between a printer and a computer can lead to a loss of connectivity between both the devices. In such situations, most Epson printer users wonder, “Why is my Epson printer offline?” They generally start blaming the build or the technology of a printer. The majority of them even go to the extent of thinking about buying a new printing machine.

However, it is important to understand that it is a fundamental issue with all printers. Regardless of the brand of a printer in use, any printing device can show the signs of a loss of connectivity.
Why does it say my Epson printer is offline?

Your Epson printer can show its connectivity status as offline if there is a problem in the print spooler service or the printer driver. This is, of course, not to say that there cannot be any other underlying cause behind it.

Steps to fix the problem

  • Tap “Windows” and “R” keys together to bring the Run dialog box.
  • Type “Control Panel” and hit “Enter”.
  • On “Control Panel”, select “Devices and Printers”.
  • On the next window, choose Epson printer among options and select “See What is Printing”.
  • Select “Printer” and ensure that the small box next to “Use Printer Offline” is not checked. In case it is checked, click on the small box to uncheck it.
  • Click on the option “Printer”, followed by the choice to configure the chosen printer as the default printer.
  • Now exit the window and check if the status of the printer has changed.

If the aforementioned steps do not resolve the issue, you need to uninstall and then reinstall your printer. In order to do so, visit the official site of Epson support and choose the printer driver which corresponds to the model of printer you have. Next, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
